Useful tools have limits. Review important results and each tool’s instructions before relying on them.

General utility and information
Your Tech Tool provides free browser tools and explanations for everyday tasks. The site does not provide personalized financial, medical, legal or security advice and is not an official certification service.
Check important results
We test known cases and error handling, but inputs, browser behavior and supported formats can vary. Review generated files, keep backups and independently verify results used for important work. The How we test page explains the testing approach and its limits.
Financial and health calculations
Mortgage estimates depend on the loan and payment assumptions shown on the page. They are not a lender’s offer and may exclude taxes, insurance, charges or jurisdiction-specific lending rules. BMR estimates depend on the selected equation and your inputs; they are not a diagnosis, treatment plan or individual dietary recommendation. Consult an appropriate professional for decisions affecting your finances or health.
Portrait and passport photographs
Portrait background processing uses a local person-segmentation model. Fine hair, transparent objects, similar colors and difficult lighting can produce imperfect edges. It is not a general-purpose product or animal cutout service. Review the original and the output before use.
The passport photo maker crops and sizes an image; it does not verify every country’s rules, identify a person, certify a photograph or guarantee acceptance. Use the current instructions from the issuing authority. Background replacement, retouching and other digital edits may be prohibited for official documents. The passport tool does not provide identity approval.
PDF, image and data conversion
Format conversion can change metadata, transparency, compression or data types. PDF page operations are not a document-sanitization service: imported pages may retain content or metadata you did not intend to share. Rebuilding a PDF can invalidate digital signatures or change interactive features. Keep originals and inspect files before distributing them.
Security and developer tools
Generated passwords must still be stored securely. Hashing is not encryption; MD5 and SHA-1 are unsuitable for modern collision-resistant security uses, and general hash tools do not provide safe password storage. Base64 is an encoding, not a way to protect secrets.
SQL formatting does not establish that a query is safe or correct. Cron previews describe the selected expression and time zone; an actual scheduler may implement different rules. Validate configuration in the system where it will run.
Display and connection measurements
The display tester reports browser-visible dimensions and animation-frame callback timing. Zoom, operating-system scaling, tab visibility, power saving and load can affect readings. Measured browser frames per second are not a calibrated measurement of the panel’s physical refresh rate.
Speed-test results describe a connection to the selected test infrastructure at that time. Wi-Fi, traffic, VPNs, device load and server conditions can affect them; they are not a guarantee of your plan’s speed or every application’s performance.
Applicable rights remain protected
These explanations describe practical limits and do not remove mandatory legal warranties, consumer protections, privacy rights or responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited. See the Terms of Use for the applicable terms.
