Privacy Policy
What stays in your browser, what a web request shares, and how to contact the maintainer about your information.
Last updated:
Summary
- No account or login is required.
- Tool text, PDFs and photographs are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our server.
- Loading the website still sends ordinary request information to the hosting infrastructure. Speed-test services receive measurement requests when you use those features.
- Google AdSense and Google Analytics are disabled in this version.
- The contact form prepares an email locally; the maintainer receives it only if you send it from your email service.
This policy applies to yourtechtool.com. “We” means the maintainer of the Your Tech Tool project in Montréal, Québec, Canada. For privacy questions, contact the maintainer responsible for personal information.
How tool inputs are handled
Calculators, developer tools, PDF tools and image tools work locally in the browser. Entered text, selected documents and photographs are not sent to us for processing. Downloads are created on your device when you choose to save a result. Check where you save or share those files.
Portrait background tools download a locally hosted AI runtime and model when processing is first requested, about 10.2 MB before browser caching. This is a download of program files from our website, not an upload of your photograph. Segmentation takes place in your browser; no identification or face-recognition service is used.
Speed-test exception: starting a speed test exchanges download and upload test data with speed.cloudflare.com. Cloudflare sees your IP address and request information; connection metadata may be shown in the tool. Choosing the separate ISP lookup button contacts ipwho.is to retrieve connection and approximate location information. These services receive normal network identifiers when contacted. Avoid these optional features if you do not want those requests made.
The display tester reads browser-reported screen and frame-timing information locally. It does not send a device profile to an analytics service.
Cookies and local storage
The website’s own code does not set advertising cookies in this version. It uses browser local storage for theme preferences, the to-do list and completion data, Pomodoro settings, and the last five speed-test results. These records remain on your device and are not synchronized with us.
Use a tool’s clear controls where provided, or clear this website’s storage in your browser settings. Clearing storage can permanently remove saved tasks and preferences; export a task backup first if needed. Browser extensions, operating-system backups and your own synchronization settings are outside the website’s control.
Website requests and messages you send
Our hosting infrastructure receives the IP address, requested URL, timestamp and browser/request headers needed to deliver pages and assets. Headers may include a referring page. Hosting systems may create access or security logs. Do not put passwords or confidential information in a URL; search terms placed in a search-page URL may appear in your browser history and ordinary request logs.
The website has no account database and no server-side contact submission. The Contact page’s form and Copy message button prepare text on your device. Opening your email app does not send the message automatically. If you send it, your email provider and our email provider handle the message, and we receive its contents, sender address and normal email headers.
We use correspondence to answer questions, investigate reported problems and handle privacy requests. Send only information needed for that purpose. Do not email passwords, private documents or payment information.
Advertising and Google AdSense
The pages include a public AdSense account-verification tag, and an ads.txt declaration identifies the publisher. These declarations do not load an ad script, set advertising cookies or mean that Google has approved the site.
Current status: Google AdSense is disabled. This version does not load Google’s advertising script or an advertising consent banner. It does not claim that an advertising consent-management system is already operating.
If Google ads are enabled later, Google and its advertising partners may receive information such as your IP address and the page URL, and use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads and, subject to your choices, personalize them. The policy and on-site consent choices must be updated before activation. Required consent must be obtained before relevant storage or processing; a Google-certified consent management platform is required for applicable advertising traffic in the EEA, UK and Switzerland.
Google explains its processing at How Google uses information from partner sites. Google Ad Settings controls ad personalization on participating services. Those settings do not replace this website’s consent obligations.
Analytics
Google Analytics is disabled. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views, visits and page-loading performance using a JavaScript beacon. Tool inputs are processed locally; hosting request logs and security statistics are separate from these browser measurements. Technical request records can contain IP addresses and should not be treated as anonymous. Learn more in Cloudflare's Web Analytics documentation.
Purposes and disclosure
Information received through ordinary website requests and email is used to deliver and secure the site, diagnose problems, respond to correspondence and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not sell tool input or operate an advertising profile from the documents you process.
Hosting and email providers process information needed for their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. The external speed-test and optional ISP lookup services are separate providers; opening a third-party link is subject to that destination’s practices.
Retention, location and security
Tool inputs are not stored in a site database. Inputs in an open tab can remain until cleared or the tab is closed, subject to browser session-restoration behavior. Files you download remain until you delete them. Local storage remains until cleared.
Correspondence is retained while needed to respond, resolve an issue, maintain a necessary record or meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed. Hosting and email providers may maintain their own logs and backups. Their retention periods and processing locations depend on the actual hosting and email arrangements; this policy does not claim that all information stays in Québec or Canada.
We limit collection through local tool processing and browser security controls. No website, device or email service can promise absolute security. For provider-specific retention, access or location questions, contact the privacy maintainer below.
Your privacy choices and rights
You may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access or correction, ask about its use and recipients, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also request a structured copy of eligible computerized information or ask for deletion where applicable. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions; we cannot retrieve files or local storage that exist only on your device.
Send a written request to [email protected]. We may ask for proportionate identity verification before disclosing or changing information. Access or correction requests are handled within the applicable legal period; Québec’s private-sector law generally requires a response within 30 days of receipt.
If you have a concern, contact us first so it can be examined. You can also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec about your rights or use its privacy complaint service. Other rights may apply where you live.
Children and sensitive information
The site is intended for general utility tasks, not to collect personal information from children. Please do not send sensitive information or a child’s personal information by email. If you believe we received it, contact the privacy maintainer so the matter can be assessed and unnecessary information removed.
Policy changes
The revision date above identifies the current policy. If data practices change, including activating advertising or analytics, this page and any required controls must be updated to describe those practices.
