About Your Tech Tool

A practical collection of tools

Your Tech Tool is an independent website project maintained in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Its 30 free tools cover developer tasks, PDFs, images, calculations, testing, security and productivity. Open a tool, complete a task and download or copy the result where supported.

The project aims to explain how results are produced, which inputs are supported and where a tool has limits. It does not require an account, a subscription or a software installation.

How the tools are built

• Local processing where practical. Text, PDFs and images are processed in your browser. The speed test exchanges data with external measurement services, as explained on its page and in the Privacy Policy.
• Methods you can inspect. Calculation pages describe their formulas and assumptions. Converters explain format limits instead of silently guessing what data means.
• Shared, simple pages. Tools share navigation, search and styling. Larger PDF libraries and portrait-processing assets load only on the pages that need them.
• Usability matters. The site provides labelled controls, keyboard navigation and responsive layouts. Browser capabilities vary; report a problem if a tool does not work on your device.

Testing, corrections and limitations

Testing covers known examples, invalid inputs, numerical edge cases, navigation, responsive layouts and generated files. The How we test page explains this approach and its limits. Tests reduce mistakes; they cannot guarantee every browser or input will behave identically.

Financial and health calculators provide estimates. Portrait tools are intended for people, and the passport photo maker cannot guarantee an authority will accept a photograph. Read each tool’s instructions and the Disclaimer before relying on an important result.

All tools in this version are free. Google AdSense and Google Analytics are currently disabled. Advertising may be added later to help fund maintenance; any activation must be reflected in the Privacy Policy and applicable consent controls.
